The Forest Heights YMCA program opened on September 1, 2004 and is offering care to children ages 5-12 years. Currently we are accepting children for both our OSC and Kinder programs. Children who register for full time care also receive a free YMCA membership which gives the opportunity for free swim lessons or other activities that may be offered at our Family Branches. We are open from 7am-6pm, and serve morning and afternoon snack. We are also open on non-school days: PD days, Christmas break and Spring break. Field trips and/or special guests are planned for the non-school days.
Children enjoy a variety of activities, such as: dramatic play, cooperative play and individual achievement. Some of our special services include family events twice/year, special event hot lunches, and the use of the school gym. Our centre offers computers, music, crafts and much more for the children to experience. We welcome you to come down and check out our new and exciting space, and to meet the staff.
I am confident that you will enjoy the great dynamics of our YMCA staff. Many of our staff are currently completing their University degrees and some have been with the YMCA for two or more years. The staff are eager to create an environment that is safe, welcoming, and fun for your family. We are dedicated to ensuring an experience that your child will want to come back to.
Our Kinder program is a great opportunity for your child to play and learn with other children. The program offers a swimming trip once a month and other out-trips such as the Scarecrow Festival, art exhibits and more. It is a great social and educational experience.
